connectCAPE

Less than 20% of Southeast Missouri State University graduates will live and work in the Cape Girardeau area. Additionally, many students graduate with limited experience in their chosen profession. connectCAPE helps bridge the gap between local employers and students through a variety of programs. Not only will students have a better feel for their future career, but they will also better understand the job opportunities available in our region. For more information about how you can be a part of this program, contact Kim Voelker at kvoelker@capechamber.com or call 573-335-3312.

Job Shadowing – Host a student for 2 half days to help them gain a better understanding of their chosen industry.

Host a high school student in Fall 2018 by filling out the business application.

Internships – On the job experience is arguably one of the most beneficial and influential opportunities for students. Not only do internships offer students an inside look to their future, but they also provide valuable hands-on experience. The Cape Chamber is a proud supporter of internship programs. If you are a student seeking an internship, or a business seeking an intern, contact Career Services at Southeast Missouri State University at careerservices@semo.edu.
