Gateway Down Syndrome Association Brings Rock 21 to Southeast Missouri with Inaugural Concert
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO — October 29, 2026 — There’s a new band in town, and they’re ready to rock!
The Gateway Down Syndrome Association (GDSA) is bringing its popular Rock 21 program to Southeast
Missouri for the first time, culminating in a live concert featuring the Chromozone Cowboyz on Friday,
November 13.
The inaugural Southeast Missouri Rock 21 Concert will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at The Library,
located at 10 S. Spanish St. in downtown Cape Girardeau. Community members are invited to come
cheer on the Chromozone Cowboyz as they take the stage and show off everything they’ve been working
on. Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the venue.
The Southeast Missouri Chapter of GDSA launched Rock 21 in the region to give individuals with Down
syndrome an opportunity to explore music, performance and the excitement of being a rockstar. Rock 21
focuses on the art of performance and the many elements that make a great rockstar. Participants have
been rehearsing their favorite songs while learning how to command the stage, engage an audience and
embrace the fun and confidence that comes with performing live.
From air guitar and dramatic hair flips to roaring guitar solos and big stage energy, the Chromozone
Cowboyz are ready to turn up the volume and show Cape Girardeau what they’ve got.
The community is invited to mark their calendars and join GDSA for an evening of live music, celebration
and plenty of rock ’n’ roll.
