Southeast Missouri and Affinity Licensing (the university's exclusive licensing agent) have partnered with Ground-A-Bout to create Redhawk Roast, the new officially licensed SEMO Redhawks coffee.

''We're excited to work with a local business to create a licensed consumable product that our alumni and fans can enjoy,'' said Associate Director of Athletics Nate Saverino. ''There is no better time than Homecoming week to reveal Redhawk Roast, which will help connect alumni and fans to the SEMO brand in a unique way.''

As part of the Homecoming week launch, Redhawk Roast will be served at the Southeast Missouri State University Foundation Copper Dome Dinner Friday evening and at the SEMO Alumni Association's ''Coffee, Cocoa and Cookies'' reception Saturday morning.

''Receiving a call about this project was a real honor,'' said Bob Schooley, owner of The Ground-A-Bout. ''A collaboration between two great entities is always a win-win. Being an alumnus of SEMO, this partnership makes sense as a way to continue weaving the tapestry that makes this community so special.''

Redhawk Roast is made from a single-origin coffee bean from the Cerrado Mineiro region of Brazil with a medium/medium+ roast profile. Beans are roasted every few days at the Ground-A-Bout Jackson location to ensure ultimate freshness for a top-quality cup of coffee.

The product is available in 16-ounce custom design bags featuring SEMO Redhawks branding in both whole bean and ground fashion. Bags can be found for retail sale at both Ground-A-Bout locations in Jackson and the Marquette Tower in Cape Girardeau, as well as the Southeast Bookstore located in the University Center on Southeast Missouri State University's campus.

A portion of each purchase of Redhawk Roast supports Southeast Missouri State University. SEMO and the Ground-A-Bout will continue to work to increase local distribution to additional retailers.
