Summer Events in Cape Girardeau

According to the U.S. Travel Association, in 2019, domestic and international travelers spent $16.5 billion exploring the State of Missouri. This summer, we will see an influx of visitors to Cape Girardeau as we are the 2021 home to several big events. Mark your calendar!

Riverboat Dockings | Beginning April 8

Each year, Cape Girardeau welcomes visitors from across the world to our river city from various riverboats. While locals are not able to board the vessels while they are docked on our banks, they certainly are a beautiful sight to see!

Cape Anime Con | June 12

Cape Anime Con features 2 exciting days of professional artists, events, cosplay, gaming, and dozens of tables of merchandise for fans to enjoy.

Big BAM Adventure Cycling | June 15

The Big BAM is Missouri’s cross state bicycle tour that incorporates music and entertainment in communities across Missouri. See cyclists from all around as they make a day stop in Cape Girardeau!

The Great Race | June 22

In 1983, a few car enthusiasts started up the Great Race as a passion project. 37 years later and the Great Race is still a top-class event filled with excitement and action. Cape Girardeau last hosted the Great Race in 2013, and we are thrilled to be welcoming them back to town once again!

Cross Country Chase Grand Finale | July 10

A cross country challenge for riders with motorcycles that were manufactured between 1930-1960, The Chase is a test of Endurance, Speed, Navigation, and Knowledge. The Cross Country Chase will prove to see the who’s who of the Antique Motorcycle World.

Each of these events bring new revenue to the area and play a significant role in stimulating economic activity, so we owe our friends at Visit Cape major kudos!
