EBO MD adds nurse practitioners to Cape Girardeau/Jackson, Fredericktown clinics

Himstedt-Jordan-EBOMD-NPs

EBO MD is pleased to welcome nurse practitioners Pam Himstedt, APRN, FNP-BC, and Melissa Jordan, FNP, to their team of primary care providers. Himstedt sees patients at the Cape Girardeau and Jackson clinic locations and Jordan sees patients at the Fredericktown location.

Himstedt has been a registered nurse since 1985 and began working as a family nurse practitioner in 2001. She earned her Master of Science in nursing from Southeast Missouri State University.

Originally from Sikeston, Himstedt has provided medical care to patients across the state as she advanced her practice areas and specialization in chronic illnesses like hypertension and diabetes and in women’s health. Her professional experience includes caring for patients in the oncology and transplant unit at MU Health Care in Columbia, the oncology unit at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis, and in primary care and diabetes education at several Southeast Missouri hospitals.

Jordan earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Central Methodist University in Fayette, Missouri, and her master’s degree in nursing from Maryville University in St. Louis. She completed a clinical rotation in family practice and pediatrics at Madison Medical Center in Fredericktown and her clinical in women’s health at Bloomsdale Women’s Clinic in Bloomsdale, Missouri.

Nurse practitioners have undergone advanced training and are able to diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries, order lab work and imaging tests, and write prescriptions. They can manage many health conditions, provide health education and help patients with disease prevention.
