Strickland Engineering Adds New Employee and Engineering Service

Strickland Engineering has excelled for more than 40 years, at helping clients overcome a variety of mechanical, electrical, civic and industrial engineering challenges, as well as provided surveying services. Strickland Engineering has now added a Structural Engineering department to their lineup of offerings. “We are proud to offer structural engineering, a service that will provide our local contractors and construction industry a local option on an ongoing basis,” said Mark Strickland, Owner at Strickland Engineering. Along with their new department, the Strickland Engineering team is excited to welcome Alayna Nordstrom as their new Structural Engineer. Alayna received both her Bachelor of Science in civil engineering and Master of Science in civil engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering from Iowa State University. She is a licensed professional engineer in Missouri. For the last four years, Alayna has worked for Drury Southwest, Inc. She is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers, the American Society of Civil Engineers, as well as the Structural Engineering Institute and the Southeast Missouri Area Engineers Club. As a structural engineer, Alayna will be responsible for project management, design, drafting and preparation of plans and specifications of structural engineering projects. She has solid experience in building design, including concrete buildings, metal stud framing and other building projects. Alayna has worked on many projects in the Midwest, including new hotel construction, additions and adaptive reuse projects. “Alayna is an outstanding addition to our team. Her knowledge and strong background will allow us to better serve our community. We are excited to continue our standard of engineering excellence as we branch out to provide structural engineering services to the local community, ” said Mark Strickland.
