An Open Letter to the Cape Chamber Staff

Dear Cape Chamber Staff,

Thank you so much for granting me the opportunity to intern this fall. I have truly appreciated working with each one of you the past few weeks. I have learned so much about the Chamber of Commerce and the Cape Girardeau community. Working as an intern has given me the confidence and skills I need to have a successful career.

The nerves I felt on the first day quickly disappeared because everyone welcomed me with warm smiles and genuine conversation. Everyone at the Chamber is passionate about their job and their team members. Not many employers care about the community or their staff, and I am fortunate to have experienced both.

I would like to thank my boss and mentor, Taylor Laws. Taylor always has a smile on her face and is ready to help with any problems or questions I have. She always gives positive feedback and shows gratitude after I complete a project or assignment. Saying “thank you” made me feel appreciated and gave me confidence.

I would also like to thank everyone else in the Visit Cape office. You guys truly the best team I’ve ever been a part of.  Chamber Events require dedication. Each and every event that the Cape Chamber hosts depend on a lot of planning and hard work. Much time and energy are spent working to ensure every event is up to par. Your dedication to members is admirable. I am so fortunate to have met each and every one of you.

I will miss working with all of you. I am sad to leave, but I know our paths will continue to cross in the future. I look forward to working with the Chamber in the future. Thank you again for the experience of a lifetime. Interning with the Cape Chamber has truly been the opportunity of a lifetime.

Thank you,

Hayley Hutson
