AT&T Creates 150 Jobs with Competitive Wages in Cape Girardeau

AT&T is a strong company that offers competitive compensation. Our local call center serves several states, and while AT&T could have put these jobs anywhere, they chose Cape Girardeau. This not only speaks measures for the quality of our community, but AT&T as well.

Economic modeling shows that these call center jobs will add nearly 25 additional jobs throughout the community resulting in around six and a half million dollars in new earnings – that’s new money being injected directly into our local economy.

AT&T is Hiring for More Than 300 Jobs in Missouri
 Positions Available in Call Centers, Retail Stores Across State

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., August 23, 2017 — AT&T* is hiring for more than 300 job openings in Missouri. The jobs are in the company’s call centers located in Cape Girardeau and Springfield, as well as retail stores across the state. Our call center and retail sales representatives work with customers to provide the entertainment and communications products that best meets their needs.

"We are seeing increased demand from consumers and businesses for applications and services supported by high-speed networks," said Rep. Kathy Swan.  “AT&T’s investment in Missouri is helping stimulate job opportunities for our residents and economic growth for our state.”

There are 150 call center openings in Cape Girardeau, and 100 in Springfield. The hires are part of a commitment AT&T made earlier this year as part of a labor agreement with the Communications Workers of America to hire 3,000 people in the Southwest Region. Potential job applicants are invited to attend an Open House Hiring Event at the Springfield Call Center on Saturday, August 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

More than 50 job openings in retail sales are spread out across the state, with 35 openings in the St. Louis area, and more than 10 in Kansas City, and additional openings in Sikeston, Cape Girardeau, and Rolla. An Open House Hiring Event will be held on Thursday, August 24 in St. Louis from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Holiday Inn—South County (6921 S. Lindbergh Blvd).
