10 Reasons to Join the Cape Chamber

1. Networking-

The Chamber offers many ways for members to build relationships with new clients and customers. Building connections through networking will lead you to opportunities to achieve your career goals. Networking events include First Friday Coffee, Business After Hours, chamber committees, special events, and chamber annual dinner. Around 300 members regularly attend First Friday Coffee, which is located at the Isle Casino Event Center.

2. Ribbon cutting-

Organizations celebrating milestones are eligible for a ribbon cutting ceremony. Milestones can include a business anniversary, relocation, expansion, new business or new ownership. The Chamber will provide ribbon, scissors, and a photo opportunity to congratulate an organization on the occasion. The photos of the event will be shared on the Cape Chamber Facebook page and included in a newsletter.


3. Member news-

Member news is an email newsletter and blog distributed to Chamber members every month. Included in the email are member-submitted announcements relating to notable news or upcoming events. All members of the Chamber are able to submit announcements for Member News.  Member News is a great opportunity to increase awareness of your organization to other members of the area.


4. Directory-

Each Chamber member receives one listing in the member directory on our website. Being listed in the directory provides online exposure for your organization. The listing includes several details of information, such a phone number, address, and job postings. The listing will also include a link to visit the organization’s website.


5. Affinity programs-

Members of the Chamber of Commerce have the opportunity to participate in programs such as Women’s Network, Grow Strong, Exchange Network, and Leadership Cape. These programs provide an environment for mentoring, professional development, and leadership growth. Exposing our members to leadership roles is a great opportunity to support your organization’s plan for success.


6. City and state advocacy-

Part of the Chamber’s service to our members is to build relationships with local and state government officials. In the rare circumstance where our members need help from the government or elected officials, the Chamber supports members by providing resources and contact information. Government regulation or legislation can impact our member’s organization, so the Chamber maintains relationships with officials who influence legislation.


7. Business builders resources-

Members of the Chamber of Commerce have access to resources to help build businesses. Business Builders is a multidimensional program available to Chamber members. Elements including in this program include workshops, online training, and luncheon series dedicated to growing your organization.


8. Help shape the future of our community-

- Community development provides the basis a city builds off of to improve the quality of life for its citizens. Economic development is important for organizations that want to continue growing. The Chamber helps create a strong community to attract talent and new businesses.


9. Help shape future leaders-

- Progressive leadership programs aiding in training future leaders is important for a sustainable community. The Chamber offers programs in order to cultivate new and existing community leaders, like ConnectCape and Capable. These programs provide an opportunity for future leaders to develop professional skills so they are ready to take on upcoming leadership roles. By helping shape future leaders, the Chamber is ensuring a sustainable future.
