Goal:  Organize and host networking opportunities to attract younger Chamber members and prospective younger members. Objectives: Sponsor networking events at area businesses every other month. Identify and participate in business and community activities congruent with the mission of the Chamber. Offer professional development workshops on a topic identified by the committee at four of the networking functions. Goal:  Enhance the recruitment of and retain younger Chamber members by encouraging involvement in Chamber activities.  Objectives: Utilize the CYP Facebook Page to encourage more professional conversations and opportunities to get more involved in the Chamber and the Cape Girardeau area. Work with Southeast Missouri State University Career Linkages Office to host the second annual Partnership of Prospects for upcoming university graduates and area employers.  Encourage involvement in Chamber special projects and functions. Assist the chamber in recruiting efforts among young professionals and decide on a measurement to determine success rate. CHAMBER YOUNG PROFESSIONALS ANNUAL REPORT – 2011 Accomplishments The CYP hosted networking events every other month at local Chamber businesses and events. Hosted a networking and discussion on the Art of Negotiation in February. Hosted a panel discussion with young professionals on getting connected in March. Launched Partnership of Prospects with Career Linkages at Celebrations Downtown and the University Center in April. Hosted a speed networking event in June. Hosted a professional development seminar in November. Increased number of CYP Facebook “likes” to 380, previously was 48.
